Abstract

The paper addresses V. Brusov’s impressions of Sweden reflected in his collection of verses «In Sweden». The paper’s author emphasizes that V. Brusov was in awe of Stockholm, the island of Gotland, the town of Visby, and the Baltic Sea. K. Balmont was also inspired by Sweden, which found its reflection in a series of verses included in his collection of verses «Under the Northern Sky». The paper’s author considers that the elements of northern exotic set the tone for the collection. The author concludes that V. Brusov, as distinct from K. Balmont, introduced the elements of urbanism in his depictions of fabulous northern nature.
